MATISA Matériel Industriel S.A.

Tamping machine

Endowed with exceptional performance, the MATISA range of tamping machines has been seducing the most demanding rail networks and contractors for many years. The precision and geometry correction capacity, as well as the high output, have largely contributed to their reputation.

Elliptical tamping technology
MATISA tamping machines benefit from high-frequency elliptical motion tamping technology. This technology guarantees incomparable compaction quality and, consequently, very limited and regular compaction of the track after tamping. This characteristic is highly appreciated, especially when MATISA tamping machines are used on track renewal sites.
Independent tamping units
The independence of each unit provides great flexibility of use. The lateral pivoting of the units generates a speed of movement and positioning precision that is second to none. The stackable picks of the combined units can fit into very tight spaces, the longitudinal movement of the outer units simplifies the handling of long oblique crossbars.
Combined levelling and gripping clamp
The combined levelling and gripping clamp with rollers and hooks is particularly simple and compact, with optimum visibility of the clamp. Its high lifting and shifting capacity enables it to handle the heaviest connections, especially those with concrete sleepers.
NEMO optical base with LED
The NEMO measuring base offers maximum reliability, flexibility, precision and automation to ensure the relative measurement of the track geometry on which the machine is working. The NEMO II measuring base has many advantages, including a modern, high-tech system, very high measuring accuracy, insensitivity to disturbances (vibration, wind, dust, reflections, etc.). The absence of measuring wires running through the cabins and between the machine tools eliminates the risk of touching or breaking the measuring wires with the picks.
Ergonomics
The range of tamping machines benefits from the latest technologies developed by MATISA, in particular a man-machine interface with touch screens associated with automated controls and multifunction joysticks, providing comfort and flexibility of use.
A single tamper to handle connections
Economical in operation, only one tamper, thanks to the optimal visibility of the four tamping units and the combination gripper with hooks and rollers.
