Enviline products powering new metro line in Istanbul

ABB will design, supply and commission MV switchgear, transformer-rectifier groups Enviline TDR and DC switchgear Enviline DCGear with its protection and control.

Ümraniye-Ataşehir-Göztepe metro line is being built on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. The new metro line connects to the Marmaray suburban railway line in Göztepe, to the Kadiköy-Kartal metro line in Yenisahra, and to the Üsküdar-Ümraniye metro line in Ümraniye. The operation of the entire system will be managed from the OCC (Operations Control Center) in the depot area. The signaling system will be designed to operate with a 90-second headway to carry maximum passengers according to the design criteria. The traffic safety system of the line is "moving block" driverless CBTC (Communication Based Train Control) technology with platform screen doors.
