ATO GoA2 pilot project with Schweizerische Südostbahn AG

Stadler Signalling has successfully completed the functional testing of the mutual ATO GoA2 pilot project with Schweizerische Südostbahn AG.

Stadler implements an ATO system (GoA2 level) on a modern multiple unit of Stadler’s FLIRT 3 series with the latest generation of control technology. The system is designed to run on GoA2 over ETCS L1LS. The ATO system is completely independent from the trains ATP system. The system is expected to provide an improvement in schedule stability, increase in capacity, higher energy efficiency and reduced wear and tear.

Next steps: optimizing and improving the systems with additional tests until we expect to enter the commercial limited test operation depending on the approval for a limited operating license from the Federal Office of Transport.
