NextGen Swissrail

We Are Opening Doors for the Next Generation

We are, on average, 29 years young – our ideas are creative, innovative, and indispensable, as we are both shaping and using the mobility system of tomorrow. That’s why we want to connect within the industry and actively contribute to designing the future of mobility.

The mobility sector is facing exciting challenges, and Swissrail is playing an active role in shaping them. With the NextGen Swissrail initiative, we are focusing on the talents of the next generation and aim to actively involve them in tackling the challenges of our industry. NextGen Swissrail is intended to create a dynamic, informal network that connects young professionals from the rail and mobility sector and facilitates regular exchange.

Vision and Annual Plan 2025

Our vision is to purposefully open up the industry—traditionally shaped by representatives of the Baby Boomer and Gen X generations—to young talents. We connect emerging professionals, give them a strong voice, and turn them into drivers of the mobility landscape. With their innovative perspectives, they make a vital contribution to sustainably increasing the attractiveness of public transport. To achieve this goal, we have outlined our 2025 annual plan as follows:
