First CO₂-conscious country stand at InnoTrans

Swiss companies in the rail and mobility sector are driving sustainable mobility solutions forward with innovation. We want to show this and are once again represented at InnoTrans this year with a climate-conscious joint stand and are looking forward to traveling to Berlin together by train!

Swissrail is pioneering a climate-conscious trade fair presence and is making waves as a result. InnoTrans and LOK Report pick up on the topic and report the following:

"Exhibitors are also focusing on climate-conscious participation in their trade fair presence. Swissrail was a pioneer in Hall 2.2 and Hall 26: Switzerland was the first country to travel to InnoTrans in 2022 with a CO₂-neutral country stand. 47 Swiss companies took part in this pioneering project. Over 100 people traveled together by train to InnoTrans

In fact, over 100 people traveled together by train to InnoTrans, significantly improving our CO₂ balance in the area of mobility (travel to and from the exhibition by staff and visitors). See the graphics below.

CO₂ emissions cannot be completely avoided. Therefore, once again this year, we are supporting various climate protection projects in Switzerland and abroad together with our partner Swiss Climate.

The project in Switzerland ensures CO₂ storage and sustainable management of 7,279 hectares of forest in the canton of Schwyz. It protects the climate, preserves biodiversity, and enables the production of energy wood for renewable energies. The project contributions maintain biodiversity and ensure the forest’s protective function against natural hazards. The second climate protection project abroad is a wind energy project in Karnataka, India. This project promotes the generation of renewable energy through wind turbines.
